Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain PostgreSQL database solutions to meet the organization's data storage and retrieval needs.
• Optimize and tune PostgreSQL database performance, ensuring high availability and scalability.
• Develop and maintain database schemas, tables, and stored procedures in line with application requirements.
• Collaborate with software developers to design efficient SQL queries and integrate database systems into applications.
• Implement and manage database security measures to protect sensitive data.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal functionality.
• Stay updated on PostgreSQL best practices and emerging technologies to enhance database performance.

Requirements & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 4 to 6 years of hands-on experience working with PostgreSQL database administration and development.
• Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries and database performance tuning.
• Experience with PostgreSQL high availability solutions such as replication, clustering, and failover mechanisms.
• Strong understanding of database indexing, normalization, and schema design principles.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL monitoring and management tools.
• Knowledge of database security best practices and the ability to implement access controls and encryption.
• Scripting proficiency (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation and task simplification.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
