We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Postgres Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team. As a Postgres DBA, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing our Postgres SQL databases, ensuring their performance, availability, and security. Your expertise in AWS, specifically with EC2, will be crucial in maintaining and scaling our database infrastructure in the cloud.

Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain Postgres SQL databases, both on-premises and in AWS EC2.
• Monitor and optimize database performance, ensuring high availability and efficient resource utilization.
• Implement backup and recovery strategies to safeguard data integrity.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues and incidents.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to support application deployments and migrations.
• Ensure database security and compliance with industry standards and best practices.
• Perform database capacity planning and recommend scalability improvements.
• Stay updated with the latest Postgres SQL and AWS technologies, tools, and best practices.

Technical/Functional Skills:

• Strong proficiency in Postgres SQL database administration.
• Solid experience with AWS services, particularly AWS EC2.
• Familiarity with database monitoring and performance optimization tools.
• Knowledge of backup and recovery strategies in a Postgres environment.
• Understanding of database security principles and practices.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Requirements:

• 8 to 15 years of experience as a Postgres Database Administrator.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).
• Relevant certifications in Postgres SQL or AWS (desired).
