Roles and Responsibilities

• Focus on aligning MPN packaging processes as part of the team at the Champaign Distribution Center.
• Oversee and manage the complete packaging development process, including the creation of packaging designs, prototype development, and performance testing.
• Analyze engineering drawings and specifications of products to determine the physical characteristics of items, special handling, and environmental and safety requirements.
• Ensuring operational efficiency in packaging, contributing significantly to the workgroup by enhancing packaging standards and practice.
• Review operational delays related to packaging and develop a quantitative evaluation of opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate with teams across supply chain, operations, quality, engineering, and purchasing to review and enhance packaging processes.

Required Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or packaging engineering.
• Must have 2+ years of experience in industrial or consumer packaging.
• Understanding of process improvement, and quality improvement concepts.
• Knowledge and understanding of packaging design validation standards (ISO, ASTM, etc.), drafting and specification standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft O365 tools.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software is needed.
