Roles and Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain database applications on Oracle Exadata platforms, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
• Write, maintain, and optimize complex SQL queries, PL/SQL programs, packages, stored procedures, functions, and triggers to support business processes, data integration, and automation of interface processes for daily/incremental data loads.
• Perform comprehensive performance tuning of SQL queries and PL/SQL code to enhance database performance, including analyzing execution plans and optimizing resource usage.
• Participate in database design and architecture discussions, ensuring the optimal schema design for scalability and performance in high-volume environments.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions, creating robust and scalable designs that address complex data processing needs.
• Utilize Unix shell scripting to automate database tasks, streamline workflows, and support data processing operations.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and modify existing code as required to address performance issues or business changes.
• Design and develop tools and scripts to support unit testing, development, and QA activities, ensuring high-quality deliverables.

Required Qualifications

• 10-15 years of experience working with Oracle Exadata DB, SQL, and PL/SQL in enterprise-level environments.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Oracle PL/SQL development, including writing packages, procedures, functions, triggers, and optimizing SQL queries for performance.
• Strong knowledge of Unix and experience writing Unix shell scripts for automating tasks and database-related activities.
• Experience in database design and architecture, ensuring scalability, high availability, and optimal performance.
• Proficient in performance tuning and query optimization in Oracle databases (Exadata or otherwise).
• Experience with Oracle Exadata-specific features such as smart scans, storage optimization, and Exadata-specific tuning techniques.
• Ability to design and implement efficient data loading and extraction processes, handling incremental and daily loads.
• Strong debugging skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues and make modifications to existing code as needed.
• Experience developing automated tools and scripts for testing, deployment, and process automation.
