Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with senior IT and business stakeholders to define enterprise architecture strategy that supports operational excellence and business goals.
- Provide oversight and direction for architecture across operational systems, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and strategic initiatives.
- Champion the adoption of modern architectural paradigms, particularly event-driven and real-time integration architectures.
- Work closely with application, infrastructure, and data teams to deliver cohesive, integrated solutions.
- Leverage in-depth knowledge of transportation or rail systems to guide architecture decisions, inform integrations, and shape future-state platforms.
- Lead architecture governance, including architecture review boards, documentation, and compliance with standards.
- Develop and maintain current and target-state architectures, as well as technology roadmaps for core operational platforms.
- Assess and recommend emerging technologies for operational applicability, modernization, and transformation.
- Support initiatives around legacy system modernization and enterprise digital transformation efforts.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in IT architecture with a focus on operational systems
- 5+ years in an enterprise or solution architecture leadership role
- Strong domain knowledge of rail, transportation, or logistics environments
- Proven experience with event-driven and microservices-based architectures
- Deep understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman)
- Experience leading architecture governance, including review boards and architectural documentation
- Solid grasp of infrastructure, cloud computing, application platforms, and data architecture
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to work across both strategic and technical levels with senior IT and business leaders.
