Roles and Responsibilities

• Manage Firewall Replacements for End-of-Life hardware, including hardware inspection, power and cabling requirements, and installation.
• Develop low-level design documentation, including host names, interface mapping, and device configurations.
• Coordinate the deployment of new firewall systems, including creating ServiceNow requests for racking, stacking, and cabling.
• Ensure the correct OS version is installed and perform upgrades (e.g., R80.40 to R81.20) as required.
• Perform firewall failover and stability tests, cutover new firewall clusters, and implement firewall policies.
• Work with engineering and application owners to conduct pre and post-deployment testing.
• Perform troubleshooting and resolve issues related to firewall configurations, network routing, and connectivity.
• Monitor and review firewall changes to ensure compliance with 4-eyes processes and change management protocols.
• Provide ongoing support for global firewall deployments and handle emergency support tasks, including weekend support when necessary.

Required Skills

• Experience in corporate global network environments with a focus on network security.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Experience in firewall management (Checkpoint, Cisco, Juniper).
• CCSA certification (Checkpoint Security Administration).
• Proficiency in firewall policy installation, troubleshooting, and management.
• Knowledge of OS upgrades, failover tests, and network security protocols.
• Experience with Proxy platforms (McAfee, Bluecoat).
• Ability to work in high-pressure, time-critical situations.

Preferred Skills

• CCSE Certification (Checkpoint Security Expert).
• Cisco Certified - CCNP (Network or Security).
• ITIL v3 Foundation certified.
• Project Management experience.
• Familiarity with finance industry privacy regulations.
