This individual's focus will be on the overall lab testing and coordination with a particular focus on the campus side/ WAN/ branch and requires an in-depth understanding of simulated lab tests and interoperability with IP appliances.
Responsibilities
- Complete Lab asset (and modules e.g., line cards) inventory mgt, registration to ReadyWorks, NMDB, and any future mgt platform identified.
- Lifecycle mgt of lab test gear (EoL/EoS/ EoVSS/ LDoS) including ensuring they run the latest certified code and/ or code under cert as needed.
- Suggest and manage continuous improvement to existing allocation and EoL/EoS tracking process. Automate wherever possible to increase process efficiency.
- Limited certifications, which will entail overall test setup/ test plan/ execution/ reporting and presenting lab test results.
- Manage current and new processes for hardware and optics allocation and inventory.
- Manage lab capacity, remove of no longer devices to free up rack space, track inbound to the lab devices, manage their physical installation, the DNS registration, out-of-band access, cable mgt & cleanup, and produce monthly lab capacity and usage report.
- Automated inventory mgt for lab-related needs (cables, optics, wraps, bins, terminal servers, jump hosts ) reporting and proactive inventory replenishment
- Lifecycle mgt of lab test gear (e.g., Ixia), ixia/ test gear code upkeep, scheduling, virtual routers (Arista Cloud Vision CVP = used for bug mgt), simulated testbeds (e.g., CML).
- Manage the interoperability testbeds, drive their testing automation, and increase efficiencies.
