The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining an organization's network infrastructure to ensure reliable and secure connectivity. This role involves configuring and troubleshooting network devices, managing network performance, and supporting network-related projects and initiatives. The Network Engineer will collaborate with IT teams to address network issues, optimize performance, and ensure network security.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deploy network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices.
- Configure network hardware and software, troubleshoot network issues, and resolve connectivity problems.
- Monitor network performance and implement solutions to enhance reliability and efficiency.
- Ensure network security through proper configuration, monitoring, and compliance with security policies.
- Maintain detailed network documentation and provide technical support for network-related inquiries and issues.
- Work closely with IT teams and other stakeholders to support network projects and initiatives.
Required Skills/Experience
- Proven experience in network design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency with network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and network management tools.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols, security best practices, and network performance optimization.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Cisco CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Network+) are preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
- Experience with advanced network technologies (e.g., VPNs, SD-WAN).
- Familiarity with network monitoring and analysis tools.
