We are seeking an experienced MySQL Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in MySQL database administration, performance optimization, and database design. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the availability, integrity, and security of our company's databases.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain MySQL databases, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and data integrity.
• Design, implement, and maintain database schemas, tables, indexes, and views.
• Monitor database performance and optimize SQL queries to improve efficiency.
• Develop, implement, and maintain database backup and recovery procedures.
• Perform regular database maintenance tasks, including database upgrades, patches, and migrations.
• Work closely with development teams to ensure optimal database performance and provide guidance on query optimization and schema design.
• Implement and maintain database security policies, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner.
• Assist with capacity planning and forecasting for database growth and performance.
• Create and maintain documentation for database processes, procedures, and configurations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5-10 years of experience in MySQL database administration, preferably in a high-traffic, high-availability environment.
• Strong understanding of MySQL performance tuning, replication, and clustering.
• Proficient in SQL query optimization and schema design.
• Experience with database backup and recovery procedures.
• Familiarity with database security best practices and relevant regulations.
• Knowledge of Linux/Unix systems and basic shell scripting.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
• Familiarity with cloud-based database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL) is a plus.
