Job Description

Design, develop, implement, and maintain scalable API-led integration solutions using the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform. Enable secure and reliable connectivity across enterprise applications, databases, cloud services, and third-party systems while following integration standards and API governance practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy MuleSoft APIs, integration services, Mule flows, and application workflows using Mule 4 and Anypoint Studio.
  • Build RESTful and SOAP APIs to integrate enterprise applications, databases, cloud platforms, and external systems.
  • Implement API-led connectivity using System, Process, and Experience APIs.
  • Develop complex data transformations using DataWeave 2.0 across JSON, XML, CSV, and flat-file formats.
  • Create and maintain API specifications and contracts using RAML and/or OpenAPI, and publish reusable assets through Anypoint Exchange.
  • Configure MuleSoft connectors, batch processing, routing, exception handling, and reusable integration components.
  • Implement API security, authentication, authorization, and governance policies using OAuth 2.0, JWT, SAML, TLS/SSL, and access controls.
  • Deploy and manage Mule applications across CloudHub, Runtime Fabric, and on-premises Mule runtime environments.
  • Develop and execute unit and integration tests using MUnit, Postman, and other API testing tools.
  • Integrate automated build, testing, code quality, and deployment processes through Git-based source control and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Monitor API performance, troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with architects, business analysts, QA, application development, infrastructure, and DevOps teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Participate in solution design, code reviews, release planning, production-readiness assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain technical documentation, API specifications, deployment procedures, operational runbooks, and support guides.
  • Follow secure coding practices, development standards, API governance, and change-management processes.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Hands-on experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, Mule 4, and Anypoint Studio.
  • Strong expertise in REST and SOAP API development, integration services, and API-led connectivity.
  • Proficiency in DataWeave 2.0 and data transformation across multiple formats.
  • Experience with RAML/OpenAPI, Anypoint API Manager, API policies, and API lifecycle management.
  • Knowledge of MuleSoft connectors, integration patterns, batch processing, routing, and error handling.
  • Experience deploying and supporting applications on CloudHub, Runtime Fabric, or on-premises Mule runtimes.
  • Understanding of API security, OAuth 2.0, JWT, SAML, TLS/SSL, authentication, and authorization.
  • Working knowledge of Java and SQL for custom logic, troubleshooting, and database integration.
  • Experience with MUnit, API testing, integration testing, and defect resolution.
  • Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, build automation, and release management.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, documentation, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MuleSoft Developer or MuleSoft Integration Architect certification.
  • Experience with Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and event-driven architecture.
  • Familiarity with Kafka, ActiveMQ, IBM MQ, or JMS-based messaging.
  • Exposure to AWS, Microsoft Azure, or hybrid-cloud integration environments.
  • Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, and Runtime Fabric operations.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, or Anypoint Monitoring.
  • Familiarity with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Maven, and automated quality gates.
  • Experience modernizing legacy ESB integrations or migrating applications to MuleSoft.
  • Understanding of API governance, reusable asset management, and Anypoint Exchange.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams and regulated enterprise environments, particularly banking or financial services.
