MQ & MQIPT Support Administrator

Responsible for installation, administration, support, and optimization of IBM MQ and MQIPT environments. Ensures secure, stable, and compliant messaging infrastructure while supporting enterprise integration needs.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Install, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot IBM MQ and MQIPT environments
• Manage MQ lifecycle activities including upgrades, decommissions, and new deployments
• Apply patches, test compatibility, and create validated install packages
• Monitor and maintain system performance, availability, and reliability
• Implement and manage MQ security, including x.509 certificate lifecycle (renewal, troubleshooting)
• Establish and maintain backup and recovery procedures
• Troubleshoot incidents and collaborate with IBM support for issue resolution
• Maintain documentation, standards, and knowledge base articles
• Adhere to ITIL processes, ticketing SLAs, and support workflows
• Participate in on-call support rotation
• Support SAFe Agile processes and Azure DevOps (ADO) practices
• Mentor team members and drive best practices implementation

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong experience with IBM MQ and MQIPT administration and support
• Hands-on expertise in installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
• Experience working with IBM support for incident resolution
• Strong knowledge of x.509 certificates and security implementation
• Proficiency in Linux administration and shell scripting
• Familiarity with MQ security, monitoring, and performance tuning
• Experience with ITIL processes and ticketing tools

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of Perl scripting or C programming
• Experience in enterprise or regulated environments
• Exposure to automation and DevOps practices
