Job Description

We are seeking an experienced MQ & MQIPT Support Administrator to manage, support, and enhance IBM MQ and MQIPT environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in installation, administration, troubleshooting, upgrades, and security management of MQ infrastructure in enterprise environments.

This role involves ensuring system reliability, supporting production environments, handling escalations, and working closely with IBM support teams for issue resolution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot IBM MQ and MQIPT environments.
  • Perform MQ upgrades, decommissioning activities, and new environment deployments.
  • Monitor system health and ensure high availability of messaging infrastructure.
  • Work with IBM support to raise and manage trouble tickets for complex issues.
  • Manage and maintain x.509 certificates, including renewal and troubleshooting.
  • Implement and enforce MQ and MQIPT security standards.
  • Establish and maintain backup and recovery procedures for MQ systems.
  • Ensure compliance with ITIL processes and SLA-driven ticketing support.
  • Provide on-call production support as required.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base articles.
  • Adhere to SAFE Agile / ADO processes for delivery and tracking.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide technical mentoring and best practices.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Strong hands-on experience with IBM MQ and MQIPT administration.
  • Experience in installation, configuration, patching, and troubleshooting of MQ systems.
  • Strong knowledge of x.509 certificates and security concepts.
  • Good understanding of Linux administration and shell scripting.
  • Experience working with IBM support and ticketing systems.
  • Strong knowledge of MQ upgrades, decommissioning, and deployment processes.
  • Experience working in ITIL-based support environments.
  • Ability to manage production incidents and meet SLA requirements.
