Responsibilities

• Manage mechanical engineering efforts for NPI and sustaining products, ensuring designs meet performance, cost, and quality targets.
• Work with hardware, process, test, and reliability engineering teams to drive design improvements.
• Interface with suppliers and manufacturers to resolve issues, optimize production, and approve tooling, fixtures, and process changes.
• Support failure analysis and root cause investigations.
• Focus on DFM, DFA, and reliability testing to improve yield and reduce costs.
• Ensure designs meet industry standards such as IPC, ISO, UL, CE, and RoHS.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Expertise in mechanical design and product development, preferably in networking or electronics hardware.
• Proficient in CAD software (Creo, SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
• Strong knowledge of materials (plastics, metals, composites), thermal management, and structural analysis.
• Experience with manufacturing processes such as injection molding, die casting, sheet metal, and CNC machining.
• Familiarity with PLM systems (Agile, Windchill).
• Knowledge of DFM, DFA, and reliability testing.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience collaborating with contract manufacturers (CMs) and suppliers.
• Knowledge of industry standards such as IPC, ISO, UL, CE, and RoHS.
