Key Responsibilities

• Work with the power conversion application engineering groups to establish the application architecture and electrical requirements for power electronics components/systems.
• Develop design concepts and detailed 3D models for low voltage power electronics inverter and converter systems.
• Collaborate with the team for mechanical design and the release of prints.
• Play an active role in supplier collaboration and selection and development of potential suppliers for the mechanical designs.
• Identify and work with other Caterpillar SMEs on aspects of the design where the team lacks expertise.

Required Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in an accredited Mechanical Engineering.
• Previous product development experience in design analysis.
• Experience with CFD & FEA analysis tools.
• Demonstrated understanding of mechanical & electrical systems with special emphasis on electric drive systems.
• Experience with quality tools including FMEA, APQP, BIQ & PPAP.
• Experience with the NPI Issue resolution process.
