Responsibilities

• Lead or contribute to mechanical design, analysis, and implementation for large utility or hydropower projects, including rotating equipment, turbines, valves, and pressure vessels.
• Manage engineering tasks related to the design, installation, commissioning, and testing of mechanical systems and components.
• Interpret and apply relevant industry codes, standards, and best practices (e.g., ASME, API, ISO).
• Support asset management and risk assessment efforts, including FMEA, condition assessment, and maintenance planning.
• Prepare engineering reports, technical specifications, calculations, and construction documents.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with civil, electrical, and project teams to support project lifecycle from feasibility through commissioning.
• Provide field engineering support during construction, start-up, and operations.
• Contribute to engineering evaluations for capital improvements, upgrades, and retrofits.
• Continuously evolve technical and professional skills through engagement with industry associations, technical workshops, and formal education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline) from an accredited engineering program.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in project engineering, design, and construction.
• Demonstrated ability to take ownership of engineering problems and deliver innovative solutions.
• Experience with large rotating equipment, pressure valves, and water delivery systems.
• Strong technical documentation, report writing, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with utility environments such as water, power generation (fossil, steam, hydro), or related fields.
