Mechanical Designer

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer to develop and maintain mechanical components and assemblies for manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have strong SolidWorks expertise, experience with manufacturing documentation and BOM management, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks.

• Create, modify, and maintain detailed 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and manufacturing documentation.

• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and cross-functional teams to support new product development and ensure timely project completion.

• Interpret engineering specifications and technical documentation to develop and modify mechanical designs.

• Implement engineering change requests and update drawings, models, and documentation based on manufacturing feedback and shop floor redlines.

• Maintain accurate BOMs within the ERP system and ensure engineering documentation is up to date.

• Manage and maintain SolidWorks PDM Vault data, including revision control and document organization.

• Ensure designs comply with company standards, manufacturing requirements, and quality expectations.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting and Design, or a related technical field.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical drafting, CAD design, drawing review, manufacturing documentation, or a related technical role.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience managing Bills of Materials (BOMs) within an ERP system; experience with Epicor is preferred.

• Proficiency with SolidWorks, including 3D modeling, detailed drawings, sheet metal, weldments, and Design Checker.

• Experience managing SolidWorks PDM Vault environments.

• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, engineering documentation, and design revision control.

• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills with engineering and production teams.
