Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and specifications to ensure manufacturability and compliance
- Develop and maintain manufacturing process plans including operations, tooling, parameters, and inspection stages
- Create and integrate inspection plans aligned with process flow, FAIR/LAIR, and PPAP requirements
- Provide shop floor engineering support to ensure correct execution and resolve process-related issues
- Ensure compliance with process specifications, standards, and audit requirements
- Support aero engine component manufacturing including machining, assembly, and special processes
- Develop and maintain Technical Instructions (TI) and Work Instructions (WI) for production use
- Support APQP/PPAP deliverables including process flow, PFMEA, control plan, and capability data
- Assist in FAIR/LAIR preparation, review, and closure of observations
- Develop PFMEA and Control Plans to manage process risks and drive preventive actions
- Create dimensional matrices and support electronic data capture for process control
- Support measurement system definition and correct use of inspection tools
- Conduct Cp/Cpk studies and drive process improvement using data analysis
- Collaborate with Design, Quality, Production, and Supply Chain teams to resolve issues and improve performance
Required Technical / Functional Skills
- Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, 3D models, and GD&T
- Experience in process planning and inspection planning for manufacturing environments
- Hands-on shop floor experience in manufacturing execution and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of aero engine manufacturing methods (machining, fabrication, assembly, special processes)
- Experience in creating Technical Instructions (TI) and Work Instructions (WI)
- Experience in FAIR/LAIR preparation and review as per AS9102 Rev C
- Experience in APQP/PPAP activities as per AS9145
- Knowledge of QMS requirements as per AS13100
- Experience in PFMEA, Control Plan, and risk-based process control
- Ability to define inspection methods and use basic inspection instruments
- Experience in dimensional characteristic matrices and electronic data capture (EDC)
- Process capability analysis (Cp/Cpk) using Minitab
- Exposure to external supply chain / supplier support activities
