Key Responsibilities

• Design, development, maintenance, and socialization of reference architecture patterns.
• Development, approval, and enforcement of standards.
• Creation and/or approval of solution designs and modifications.
• Co-design of critical metrics and measurements.
• Evaluation of technologies and partnerships.
• Proactively partner with Product and Platform teams, and other enterprise architects, to design scalable, flexible, and supportable technical systems. 
• Coordinate and lead an Abiomed Architecture guild, driving architecture engagement throughout the product development.
• Continually evaluate the technology landscape for pioneering and/or ground-breaking technologies that confer a competitive advantage to the business.
• Work with architecture tools and datasets such as MEGA/ALM Dashboards and application inventories to gather, maintain, and effectively use applications.

Required Qualifications

• BS degree in a technical, engineering, or scientific field.
• 10 years of equivalent business or technology experience is required.
• 10 years of technology experience architecting platforms and solutions in an enterprise context.
• Hands-on experience with the following technologies: public/private cloud, virtualization, AI/ML, IoT, micro-services, data warehousing, and ETL.
• Experience with system development lifecycle methodology.
• Experience leading technical conversations, workshops, and workstreams to consensus/conclusions/actions.
• Proven ability to understand and articulate business requirements, direction, and initiatives, including the ability to balance requirements from an enterprise, sector, and franchise/region level.
• Ability to translate business strategy into technology strategy within a complex and matrixed environment.
• Experience working in a regulated environment (e.g. GxP, HIPAA, GDPR …).
