We are seeking a skilled Mainframe z/OS Administrator to install, customize, test, implement, document, and support independent software vendor (ISV) products, including necessary user modifications. The role involves managing z/OS software installations, resolving installation issues, and collaborating with vendors for problem resolution.

Responsibilities

• Install and Customize ISV products on z/OS, including modifications for site-specific requirements.
• Use IBM SMP/e to receive, apply, and manage z/OS software and other related software packages, interpreting SMP/e output to resolve installation issues.
• Provide production off-hour coverage and support for periodic weekend implementations.
• Manage IBM z/OS USS (UNIX Systems Services) file systems, mount points, and troubleshoot USS environments.
• Create and update z/OS parameters using PARMLIB for system configurations.
• Maintain accurate, detailed documentation for z/OS software and hardware installations/upgrades.
• Utilize z/OS communication products including VTAM, TCP/IP, and FTP for system integrations and management.
• Work with z/OS, JES2, SMP/E, TSO, IOCP/HCD, and Parallel Sysplex for system operations and troubleshooting.

Required Experience

• Strong experience with z/OS administration and related components (JES2, SMP/E, TSO, IOCP/HCD, Parallel Sysplex).
• Proficient in managing IBM z/OS USS environments and file systems.
• Solid understanding of IBM SMP/e for managing software installations and updates.
• Ability to debug and modify z/OS parameters using PARMLIB.
• Experience working with z/OS communication products like VTAM, TCP/IP, and FTP.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
