The Mainframe Systems Programmer (CICS/Web Services) will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and support of mainframe systems with a focus on CICS and web services. This role involves managing system performance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing enhancements to ensure the stability and efficiency of mainframe applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure, install and maintain CICS regions.
- Monitor and optimize CICS performance and troubleshoot issues.
- Develop and maintain web services that interact with mainframe systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to web service connectivity and performance.
- Perform regular system maintenance tasks including updates, patches, and backups.
- Monitor system logs and performance metrics to identify and resolve potential issues.
- Ensure system availability and reliability.
- Provide technical support for mainframe systems, addressing and resolving system issues.
- Participate in planning and executing system upgrades and enhancements.
- Assist in the design and implementation of new CICS and web service solutions.
- Create and update system diagrams and process flows.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience as a Middleware Systems Programmer. Must have CICS and Web Services.
- Support the IBM Z Mainframe z/OS environment (CICS and Web Services)
- Securely support various upgrades, configure, and maintain supported release levels
- Perform root cause analysis
- Continuously improve stability and reliability in the IBM Z Mainframe space
- Bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- Working knowledge of programming, database, and systems analysis and related applications
- Broad application of principles, theories, and concepts in applicable discipline, plus working knowledge of other related fields.
