Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain the mainframe storage environment, including disk storage, tape storage, virtual tape libraries, and storage area networks (SAN)
• Perform storage capacity planning, forecasting, and optimization to meet business requirements and performance goals
• Implement and maintain storage policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure data integrity, availability, and security
• Troubleshoot and resolve storage-related issues, including performance bottlenecks, data corruption, and hardware failures
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including system administrators, network engineers, and application developers, to ensure seamless integration of storage resources with other IT infrastructure components
• Lead Storage (Tape and DASD) Admin with experience in refresh projects, including plan, design and implementation with minimum disruption to the business, back out procedure, and execution coordination 

 

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• Strong Hands-on experience in DFSMS, ICF Catalogs, ICKDSF, Backup and Restore Utilities
• Proficiency in mainframe storage technologies, such as DASD - HDS (G5500, G1000), tape libraries, and storage management software (e.g., IBM TS7700, CA Vtape, EMC TimeFinder).
• 4+ years of experience in mainframe storage administration, with a focus on IBM mainframe systems
