Job Description
Responsibilities
  • Monitor and maintain mainframe system performance, ensuring reliability and stability.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose complex production issues, identifying root causes and implementing long-term solutions.
  • Collaborate with development teams to coordinate and deploy application releases, patches, and updates.
  • Develop and execute scripts for automating routine tasks and improving system efficiency.
  • Document incidents, issues, and solutions for future reference and knowledge sharing.
  • Perform data analysis and generate reports to track system health and performance metrics.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements, troubleshoot complex production problems, and provide technical guidance.
  • Support and coordinate disaster recovery (DR) and backup testing activities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and security requirements.
  • Assist with performance tuning and optimization of mainframe applications and systems.

 

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Mainframe Production Support or similar roles.
  • Proficiency in mainframe technologies including [z/OS, MVS, JCL, TSO, VSAM, DB2, CICS, IMS, etc.].
  • Experience with monitoring tools and job schedulers (e.g., IBM Tivoli, BMC Control-M, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of scripting languages such as REXX, CLIST, or other automation tools.
  • Familiarity with mainframe security practices and data protection standards.
  • Exceptional ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop efficient solutions.
  • Experience working within an agile or collaborative work environment.
