We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Network System Programmer to maintain, support, and optimize mainframe network environments. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in z/OS networking, parallel sysplex environments, and network security, with strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
Required Technical / Functional Skills
- Strong experience in maintaining and supporting Mainframe Network Systems
- Expertise in installation, configuration, and fine-tuning of network components in mainframe environments
- Proven experience in debugging, root cause analysis, and performance tuning
- Hands-on experience with network configuration on the system side.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Support and administer network components within parallel sysplex mainframe environments
- Work extensively with TSO/ISPF utilities for system-level tasks
- Configure and manage z/OS Communication Server components, including SNA and TCP/IP, across multiple LPAR environments
- Manage and support VTAM configuration and troubleshooting
- Implement and maintain security configurations, including:
- Policy Agent
- Network encryption
- Security compliance and best practices
- Perform system monitoring, performance analysis, and capacity planning
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex network and connectivity issues
