Role & Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain mainframe-based applications using COBOL.
• Build and support batch and online programs using IMS/DB and IMS/DC.
• Develop and troubleshoot transaction-based applications using CICS.
• Create and manage JCL scripts for efficient batch processing.
• Collaborate with business analysts and other developers to gather requirements and design solutions.
• Perform unit testing and support system/integration testing.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
• Conduct basic system administration tasks, including dataset management and security configurations within z/OS.
• Monitor and optimize the performance of applications on the mainframe environment.

Required Qualifications

• Strong programming skills in COBOL.
• Deep understanding of z/OS mainframe operating systems.
• Expertise in IMS/DB and IMS/DC for data and transaction management.
• Proficiency in CICS for building and managing online applications.
• Strong experience writing and debugging JCL for job scheduling and execution.
• Familiarity with basic system administration tasks within a mainframe ecosystem.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
