Roles and Responsibilities

• Own and drive all technical aspects of software development for assigned mainframe applications.
• Perform architecture, design, development, and maintenance of enterprise-level systems using COBOL, JCL, CICS, and IMS DC.
• Collaborate effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders, and third-party vendors to design and implement innovative solutions.
• Work independently or as part of an agile team to deliver high-quality code using consistent development practices.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues using tools like Xpeditor, File-Aid, and File Manager.
• Use IBM utilities and environments including TSO/ISPF, JES2, SPUFI, QMF, and others for development and debugging.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment using tools like Endeavor, Tivoli, FTP/NDM, and Cornerstone.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by actively suggesting enhancements to systems and processes.
• Leverage Microsoft Office tools to document solutions, collaborate on project plans, and communicate across teams.
• Stay updated on industry trends, especially in the payments domain (preferred), and apply best practices to development efforts.

Required Skills and Experience

• Proficient in COBOL, JCL, CICS, IMS DC, and z/OS / OS390 platforms.
• Hands-on experience with IBM mainframe utilities, including TSO/ISPF, JES2, SPUFI, QMF, Xpeditor, File-Aid, File Manager.
• Experience with FTP/NDM, Endeavor, Tivoli, Cornerstone, and Microsoft Office Tools.
• Strong communication skills to interface with business product managers, QA teams, and third-party vendors.
• Ability to work in an agile environment, take ownership, and drive solutions with minimal supervision.
• Strong analytical and abstract thinking skills to handle undefined or evolving business requirements.
• Experience in the payments domain is a strong plus.
