Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 4 to 8 years of hands-on experience in mainframe development.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as COBOL, PL/I, Assembler.
• Strong understanding of mainframe operating systems (e.g., z/OS, OS/390).
• Experience with mainframe databases (DB2, IMS) and file systems (VSAM).
• Knowledge of batch processing and job scheduling on mainframes.
• Familiarity with mainframe development tools and utilities (JCL, CICS, TSO/ISPF).
• Understanding of source control and version management on mainframes.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with business analysts and end-users to gather and analyze requirements.
• Design, code, test, and debug mainframe applications.
• Perform unit testing and participate in system integration testing.
• Optimize mainframe code for performance and efficiency.
• Maintain and enhance existing mainframe applications as needed.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for mainframe-related issues.
• Document code and development processes for knowledge sharing.

Preferred Skills (not mandatory):

• Experience with mainframe modernization techniques and tools.
• Knowledge of mainframe security best practices.
• Familiarity with mainframe integration with distributed systems.
• Understanding of mainframe performance tuning and optimization.
