We are seeking a highly skilled Mainframe Developer with 10+ years of development and support experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in COBOL and JCL programming, along with expertise in banking or finance domain systems. You will play a key role in supporting and enhancing critical mainframe applications, utilizing tools such as DB2, VSAM, and TWS, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal system performance and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and support mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, and VSAM.
- Analyze business requirements, design and implement solutions, and ensure that applications meet performance, scalability, and security standards.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues in production and test environments.
- Work with databases (DB2 and VSAM) for data management, including query optimization and data integrity checks.
- Use TWS (Tivoli Workload Scheduler) for scheduling and job management tasks.
- Manage version control with Endeavor to track code changes and maintain consistency.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand and deliver solutions in the banking/finance domain.
- Ensure high availability and reliability of mainframe systems, adhering to service-level agreements (SLAs).
- Provide technical support and maintenance for existing systems and applications.
- Write detailed documentation for development processes, system designs, and issue resolutions.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, providing updates and recommendations.
Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of experience in mainframe development and support, with strong expertise in COBOL, JCL, DB2, and VSAM.
- 5+ years of experience in the banking or finance domain, with a deep understanding of industry-specific systems and processes.
- Proficiency in using TWS (Tivoli Workload Scheduler) for job scheduling and management.
- Experience with Endeavor for version control and code management.
- Strong technical and analytical problem-solving skills, with a track record of successfully diagnosing and resolving complex issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
