We are seeking a highly skilled Mainframe COBOL Developer for an on-site opportunity in Omaha, NE. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in mainframe application development, with strong hands-on experience in COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, and CICS. A mandatory coding test will be part of the selection process to ensure technical proficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, implement, and support mainframe applications.
• Write efficient COBOL programs and JCL scripts using best practices.
• Analyze technical and business requirements to translate them into technical solutions.
• Create and execute unit test cases to ensure quality and reliability.
• Troubleshoot and debug complex issues in a timely manner.
• Optimize the performance of mainframe applications for efficiency and scalability.

Required Skills

• Hands-on experience in COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, and Mainframe Utilities.
• Experience with CICS is required.
• Experience in the Payments or Cards domain is a plus.
• Strong debugging and performance tuning skills.
• Strong analytical skills for gathering and interpreting business requirements.
• Ability to write clear technical specifications and documentation.
