Machine Technician (Equipment) – Engineer

Roles & Responsibilities

• Set up and configure machines based on tooling and CAD inputs
• Optimize machine settings for material type, thickness, and construction
• Support prototype builds with cross-functional teams
• Troubleshoot issues impacting quality and cycle time
• Support build scaling from early prototypes to pre-production
• Provide input on process optimization and manufacturability

Factory & Scale-Up Support

• Develop build documentation and support process stabilization
• Assist in pilot production and manufacturing line setup
• Support handoff to factory or production teams

Required skills

• Softgoods prototype development (textiles, silicone, polymers)
• Experience with sewing machines and fabrication equipment
• Machine setup, calibration, and maintenance
• Knowledge of DFM, manufacturability constraints, and NPI
• Validation testing experience
• Hands-on experience with softgoods fabrication equipment: cutting, bonding/lamination, sewing machines, heat presses/forming tools
• Strong knowledge of machine setup, calibration, and preventive maintenance
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment and process issues
• Working knowledge of textiles, microfibers, silicone, and adhesives
• Experience in prototyping, DFM, validation testing, and NPI
