Linux System Administrator

Roles and Responsibilities

• Perform Linux system administration including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
• Apply security patches and ensure STIG compliance on Linux operating systems.
• Provide technical support to troubleshoot and resolve Linux and Windows OS issues.
• Perform system updates, upgrades, and server configuration changes.
• Implement approved changes to locally hosted workstations and servers.
• Maintain secure and compliant system environments in accordance with DoD requirements.

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience administering Linux operating systems.
• Experience supporting Windows operating systems is preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and system support experience.

Certifications

• CompTIA Security+ OR GSEC OR SSCP OR CySA+ (IAT Level II or higher per DoD 8570.01-M or successor).
• Linux System Administration certification (required).
