Responsibilities

• Perform system administration tasks for large-scale Linux systems in a high-performance computing environment.
• Assist in installing and configuring Linux systems and ensuring their ongoing management.
• Provide support for EMC VNX SAN systems, Avamar/Data Domain backup solutions, and other storage-related tasks.
• Patch and build Linux kernels to ensure system security and performance.
• Maintain system security, including the installation of security software and scripting for process accounting.
• Work closely with teams to ensure seamless integration and management of Linux systems in a multi-vendor setup.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 1-2 years of experience working with Linux servers in an enterprise environment.
• Experience in Linux OS installation, maintenance, process accounting, security software, and script programming.
• Competency in networking and familiarity with TCP/IP and high-speed proprietary interconnects.
• Experience managing EMC Storage and backup solutions.
• Proficiency in patching and building Linux kernels.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with the deployment and management of large-scale Redhat Linux environments.
• Red Hat Linux Engineer Certification (RHCE).
• Experience with virtualization tools such as VMware.
• Familiarity with tools like Avamar/Data Domain and Nagios.
