Roles and Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of firewall administration, including maintenance, upgrades, and configuration changes, ensuring optimal performance and security.
• Conduct hands-on administration of routers and switches, implementing best practices to maintain network integrity and efficiency.
• Utilize expertise in Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, and Check Point firewalls to design, implement, and troubleshoot complex firewall configurations and policies.
• Implement and maintain security operations in AWS and Azure environments, leveraging Palo Alto Prisma for comprehensive security management.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of firewall and security architecture, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices.
• Utilize ServiceNow (SNOW) for incident and change ticket management, ensuring timely resolution and adherence to established processes.
• Investigate and respond to IDS/IPS alerts, leveraging in-depth knowledge of network security principles and techniques.
• Ensure compliance with Payment Card Industry (PCI) standards and best practices, implementing necessary controls and measures to protect sensitive data.
• Apply ITIL principles to problem and change management processes, tracking trends and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and external partners, providing updates on project status, issues, and resolutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CCIE) are a plus.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in network security with a focus on firewalls. Proven experience in a leadership role is highly desirable.
• Extensive knowledge of firewall technologies (e.g., Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Check Point).
• Proficiency in network protocols, IP addressing, and routing.
• Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) systems.
• Understanding of VPN technologies, intrusion prevention systems (IPS), and other security measures.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex security issues.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Relevant certifications such as Cisco CCNP Security, Palo Alto Networks PCNSE, or similar are advantageous.
