Job Description

•Architecting, designing, developing, and testing all layers of the embedded software stack
•Collaboration with engineering, product management, and customers to identify and implement software solutions that solve our customer's challenges, and meet their needs
•Review and provide key feedback at design reviews and code inspections
•Research, document, and implement requirements and specifications including time and effort estimations
•As a Technical Lead drive the day to day development work of a team, and present status on software development efforts to project management and management
•Develop software for prototyping or proof of concept projects
•Creating and participating in continuous improvement initiatives and advancing our product quality and quality culture
•Interact regularly with managers, vendors, and customers to field queries and questions
•Recommend improvements for optimal performance of company products
•Mentor and coach junior software development staff
•Provide technical support to team members

Qualified Candidates will have:
•8+ years' experience in Embedded software development and software architecture/high level design
•BS in Computer or Software Engineering
•Must be an excellent communicator and collaborator with the ability to work with sales, marketing, and customers
•Hands on experience with embedded software development using C – bare metal and with an operating system
•Familiarity with embedded RTOS (FreeRTOS a plus)
•Experience with communication protocols such as i2C, SPI, USB, CAN, TCP/IP, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi communications preferred
•Experience with GIT, Jira, Crucible is preferred
•Experience with Android development a big plus
•Experience developing or leading development in an Agile Scrum process
•Experience creating design documentation, roadmaps, requirements, and coding standards
•Experience creating design options and estimations for future projects
•Good visual and software design sense and creative drive
•Ability to establish/revise/execute process change to gain engineering efficiency as well as identify opportunities for improvement
•Problem solving skills and the ability to get the job done
•Knowledge of cars and the automotive industry a plus
