We are seeking a highly skilled LAN ACI Engineer to design, deploy, and manage Cisco ACI, SDA, and DNAC environments across enterprise and data center networks. The role involves hands-on configuration, troubleshooting, automation, and monitoring of LAN and data center fabrics, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.
Required Technical / Functional Skills
- Strong knowledge of LAN switching technologies: Tenant, VRFs, BDs, EPGs, VXLAN, STP, Trunking, EtherChannel, HSRP, VRRP, LACP, PaGP.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco Nexus (2K, 5K, 7K, 9K) and Catalyst (3K, 4K, 6K, 6800) switches, VSS, VPC, FEX, VDC, OTV, and FabricPath.
- Expertise in Cisco ACI, SDA, DNAC, APIC controllers, and multi-tenancy in data center environments.
- Strong IP networking skills: IPv4, IPv6, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLSM, DHCP, DNS (Infoblox).
- Experience in load balancing, QoS, CoS, MPLS, Metro Ethernet, and Hub & Spoke architectures.
- Monitoring and alerting tools: APIC/ACI, Nexus Dashboard, DNAC, ISE, PagerDuty, Nagios, ThousandEyes.
- CCNP or higher with strong Layer 2/3 networking expertise.
- Hands-on troubleshooting for connectivity, routing, contracts, endpoints, and network hardware issues.
- Understanding of automation and orchestration within ACI, SDA, and DNAC environments.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide operations support for Enterprise LAN, Data Center, Campus, and Security networks across North America.
- Install, configure, and support switches, routers, and APIC/DNAC controllers.
- Configure and manage Cisco ACI objects: tenants, VRFs, bridge domains, EPGs, contracts, and L3Outs.
- Resolve connectivity, routing, and application integration issues.
- Plan, schedule, and perform firmware upgrades and network maintenance with minimal downtime.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot faults to maximize uptime and efficiency.
- Implement micro-segmentation and security policies for ACI workloads.
- Support automation, orchestration, and integration with ISE, DNAC, and APIC-EM.
- Manage procurement of network equipment and supervise subcontractor activities.
- Collaborate with customers, vendors (Cisco), and internal infrastructure teams.
- Report network status, incidents, and service improvements to stakeholders.
- Act as escalation point for complex operational issues.
Preferred Qualifications
- CCNP or higher certification (Routing & Switching / Data Center).
- Proven experience in large-scale Cisco ACI, SDA, and DNAC deployments.
- Strong understanding of enterprise network design, multi-tenant fabrics, and high-availability architectures.
- Ability to mentor junior engineers and enforce best practices in network operations.
