1–3 years (or equivalent) with server/appliance hardware, cabling, and safe rack/transport work.
Basic hardware and network troubleshooting skills
Able to follow written steps, label work, and record serials/asset data.
Reliable for local transport when needed; clear written handoffs for shipments and RMAs.
Nice to have: exposure to containers, CI/CD and storage networks.
Responsibilities:
Network / appliances: NIC moves, swaps, bypasses, and chassis relocations; Tetra/specialty NIC installs; switch wiring; in-path and WAN–LAN connectivity fixes.
Storage: Disk and storage-unit replacements; drive swaps and field replacements (non-RAID flows as directed); spare parts.
Lab IT: ESX, Hyper-V / Windows Server hosts and LAN/WAN pairs (operate and troubleshoot with guidance).
Other: General troubleshooting; remote syslog/logging server replacement as runbooked; hardware inventory and retired-gear tracing; use of internal analytics/DB/service endpoints and credentials per process; password sync and locked lab accounts for non-LDAP flows as trained.
