Primary Responsibilities

• Design, build, and manage a container platform using Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
• Collaborate with both client and internal stakeholders to implement new features and manage Kubernetes platform maintenance.
• Hands-on experience with Cloud Service Mesh implementations and managing GKE Fleet.
• Oversee the lifecycle management of GKE add-ons including Anthos Service Mesh, security tools, instrumentation, and observability features.
• Apply and enforce best practices to meet internal SLA/SLO targets for platform performance and availability.
• Manage CI/CD pipelines for deploying infrastructure and application workloads on GKE.
• Implement and maintain security controls, ensuring compliance with industry standards and organizational policies.
• Build and support platform monitoring and logging solutions, aligned with user story requirements.
• Respond to support requests and incidents, continuously improving platform performance and reliability.
• Maintain thorough documentation of platform configurations, procedures, and best practices.

Required Technical Skills

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Terraform
• Cloud Platform Expertise: Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or equivalent
• Containerization & Orchestration: Kubernetes, Docker
• Service Mesh: Cloud Service Mesh (e.g., Anthos Service Mesh)
• Architecture: Cloud-native and microservices architecture
• DevOps Tools: Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines
• Scripting: Python
• Monitoring & Observability: Experience building logging and monitoring solutions.
