We are seeking a Kafka Infrastructure Engineer with strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, and security. This role focuses on designing, deploying, and securing Confluent Kafka environments across cloud platforms, while ensuring compliance with enterprise security standards.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain infrastructure automation for deploying and managing Confluent Kafka environments (cloud/on-prem)
- Enhance and support existing automation frameworks using Terraform, Python, and Ansible
- Collaborate with LOBs, Engineering, and Operations teams to capture requirements and deliver scalable solutions
- Work closely with application teams to understand messaging protocols and Kafka usage patterns
- Develop and execute test automation, troubleshoot issues, and ensure reliable deployments
- Define and implement secure, compliant infrastructure solutions aligned with enterprise policies
- Analyze IT security standards, identify risks, and recommend mitigation strategies
- Participate in architecture and design discussions to ensure secure system integration
- Document solutions, processes, and implementation plans
- Act as a key contributor driving automation, security, and operational excellence
Required Skills & Experience
- 7–10 years of experience in software development / infrastructure engineering
- Strong hands-on experience with Apache Kafka (Confluent Kafka preferred)
- Expertise in Terraform (IaC) and automation using Python and/or Ansible
- Experience working in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Solid understanding of distributed systems and messaging architectures
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Security & Compliance Expertise
- Strong understanding of IT security frameworks, policies, and standards
- Experience identifying security risks, threats, and vulnerabilities
- Ability to design and enforce secure, compliant infrastructure solutions
- Knowledge of access controls, encryption, and secure configurations
