Job Responsibilities

• Perform IP network device upgrades, review current network designs, and implement required changes to meet evolving business needs and technology requirements.
• Review existing network designs and build new configurations that align with upgrade requirements, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
• Assemble, configure, install, and dispose of Cisco routers (ASR/ISR models) and Cisco Catalyst switches following established configuration standards and best practices.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot network issues related to routers, switches, and other network devices, resolving them in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
• Utilize a work management system to coordinate tasks, schedule installations, and obtain necessary approvals. Ensure smooth task execution and clear communication across teams.
• Work with business owners to schedule planned outages and maintenance windows as required, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
• Manage individual tasks and provide periodic status updates and progress reports to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability.

Required Experience & Skills

• Proven expertise in network design, management, detailed documentation, and problem analysis. Ability to formulate scope and objectives for system changes and implement them effectively.
• Strong hands-on experience with Cisco ASR/ISR routers (EIGRP, HSRP, OSPF) and Cisco Catalyst switches, including configuration and troubleshooting of Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols.
• Solid understanding of Cisco Layer 2 protocols and configurations (VLANs, STP, etc.).
• Knowledge of network security best practices and their implementation to protect the network infrastructure.
• Ability to determine network requirements, design network topologies, select equipment, and create Bills of Materials (BOM) for network projects.
• Exposure to datacenter environments, including configuring and managing network infrastructure within data centers.
• Experience troubleshooting physical layer issues in copper and fiber infrastructures, ensuring reliable network connectivity.
