Java/Scala Developer

We are looking for talented Java/Scala application developers this role requires both strong technical ability in a variety of development environments and significant proficiency with Java EE Object Oriented development, as well as proven capability leveraging Scala for rapid application design and development.  Ideally, candidates have exposure to Scala, Spring, EJB, Gradle, Kerberos for middle-tier and server-side development, including micro-service and web service architecture.  Candidates must have experience with basic databases, and exposure to data warehouses and/or data lakes such as Teradata and Snowflake, along with understanding of data transformation concepts (ETL) and related software, such as Informatica.  Candidates should demonstrate an eagerness to understand complex business and data problems and requirements, an aptitude for translating these problems into workable designs and solutions and will possess a keen eye for detail.

Lastly, candidates must have familiarity with LLM and Generative AI development techniques, using AI-powered IDEs to develop proper model context and specifications for enterprise-grade software, leveraging GenAI to provide scalable, testable and resilient code.

Skills Required  

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Experience using GenAI-powered IDEs, such as VS Code and Co-Pilot
• Experience with object-oriented software development
• Experience with modern SDLC methodologies, including Agile processes
• Technical skills:
• Experience with Java EE (Spring, EJB, Gradle)
• Exposure to Scala
• Solid RDBMS and SQL knowledge
• Familiarity with Linux and Windows development environments
• A generalist with demonstrated abilities in specific areas and a strong ability to deliver reliably
• Self-motivated individual and creative thinker who will take ownership of tasks and projects, able to work with the global team, and manage time and tasks effectively and independently.

Skills Desired  

• Experience with a scripting language; Python preferred
• Experience in the financial industry 
• Experience with JIRA and standard Agile ceremonies and practices
• Familiarity with Jenkins
• Familiarity with Data Warehouse / Data Lake reporting concepts and design
• Familiarity with ETL
