Roles and Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Java-based systems for peer-to-peer communication across multiple servers and platforms, integrating messaging platforms and ensuring efficient data exchange.
• Design, build, and deploy Java-based KAFKA producers and consumers to enable real-time messaging and event-driven processes.
• Develop and maintain REST API services using Java frameworks (Spring Boot or equivalent) to enable seamless system communication.
• Design and optimize in-house load balancing engines to effectively distribute processes and manage load across distributed systems.
• Develop and integrate file watcher programs to automate process executions and integrate them with existing tools and frameworks.
• Work on integrating Java-based solutions with legacy mainframe systems, ensuring smooth communication between modern Java applications and older platforms.
• Write and maintain shell scripts to automate processes, manage system tasks, and ensure smooth operations.
• Work within an Agile development environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project deadlines and milestones, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in core Java development, including expertise in collections, JDBC, multi-threading, and at least one IPC methodology.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in building REST APIs using Java frameworks such as Spring Boot or equivalent.
• Experience developing Java-based programs on mainframe platforms or integrating Java applications with mainframe systems.
• Experience in building and deploying KAFKA producers and consumers for real-time messaging and event-driven architectures.
• Strong proficiency in Unix shell scripting for automating system processes and managing tasks.
• Familiarity with Agile practices and the ability to work effectively in an Agile development environment.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of Hadoop ecosystem tools (Cloudera, HDFS, MapReduce, Hive) is highly desirable.
• Experience with Big Data technologies and working on large-scale data processing implementations.
• Ability to explore and apply tools within the Hadoop ecosystem to solve complex integration problems.
• Ability to manage and support multiple projects simultaneously, meeting competing deadlines while maintaining high standards.
