Java AI Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Java Engineer to design and build AI-powered developer tools, Agentic workflows, and performance engineering frameworks. This role focuses on creating intelligent AI agents using GitHub Copilot Agent Mode and Claude-based models within modern IDE environments (e.g., IntelliJ) to automate software engineering workflows across CI/CD pipelines, performance testing, and developer productivity tooling.

Key Responsibilities

Java Engineering:

• Design and develop scalable Java tools and frameworks with a focus on application performance and resiliency testing.

• Build frameworks and reusable components to shift-left testing and accelerate performance/resiliency validation.

• Develop internal developer platforms and productivity frameworks to enhance engineering efficiency.

• Build and integrate services with microservices architectures and distributed systems.

AI Agent Development:

• Design and implement Agentic AI workflows to automate engineering tasks such as code analysis, PR validation, test orchestration, results analysis, and CI/CD operations.

• Build AI agents using GitHub Copilot Agent Mode, Claude models, and other LLMs.

• Develop developer productivity agents within IntelliJ and GitHub environments.

• Create AI-assisted tools for root cause analysis, test generation, and system diagnostics.

CI/CD Automation:

• Build and optimize GitHub Actions pipelines for large-scale mono-repos and microservices architectures.

• Integrate AI agents into CI/CD workflows to automate code quality, performance checks, test coverage, and release readiness.

• Implement automated validation for:

  • Performance regressions

  • Code quality

  • Test coverage

  • Release readiness

Performance Engineering:

• Design frameworks for automated performance testing and continuous performance validation.

• Build tools that integrate performance tests directly into CI/CD pipelines, enabling faster feedback and actionable insights.

Required Qualifications/Skills

• Strong Java programming skills and experience with performance/resiliency frameworks.

• Expertise in AI agent development using GitHub Copilot Agent Mode, Claude-based models, and other LLMs.

• Experience with CI/CD automation using GitHub Actions or equivalent.

• Familiarity with microservices architectures, distributed systems, and performance engineering.

• Experience developing developer productivity tooling inside IDEs such as IntelliJ.

• 5+ years of experience in Java development with a focus on automation, performance, or productivity tools.

• Hands-on experience building or integrating AI agents for software engineering workflows.

• Strong understanding of modern software development workflows, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.

• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
