Key Responsibilities
- Manage the entire lifecycle of IT hardware and software assets, from acquisition to disposal, ensuring accurate tracking and management throughout their lifecycle.
- Administer and configure ServiceNow Asset Management modules (HAM/SAM), including creation and maintenance of asset records, software entitlements, and hardware configurations.
- Analyze IT asset data for cost optimization, risk assessment, and compliance with licensing agreements. Provide insights and reports to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
- Ensure accurate management of software licenses, including understanding publisher licensing metrics, maintaining compliance, and optimizing license usage to reduce costs.
- Develop reports, presentations, and dashboards for asset management KPIs, helping leadership track key metrics, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Work with procurement, IT operations, security, and compliance teams to ensure accurate and timely tracking of all IT assets. Assist in audits and inventory reconciliation efforts.
- Maintain and update the IT asset repository, ensuring that records for both hardware and software assets are accurate and up-to-date.
- Leverage asset discovery tools such as SCCM and ServiceNow to extract, update, and analyze asset information. Ensure assets are properly discovered and recorded in the system.
- Utilize ServiceNow scripting (JavaScript, Glide API) to automate and improve asset management processes. Develop workflows, integration hubs, and connectors to ensure seamless operations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; OR
- 10+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- At least 2 years of experience administering and developing the hardware and software asset modules in ServiceNow.
- At least 4 years of experience in IT asset management, including hardware and software lifecycle management.
- Demonstrated expertise in analyzing IT asset data for cost, risk, and compliance.
- Advanced Excel functionality and data manipulation (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas, etc.).
- Extensive experience with asset discovery tools such as SCCM and ServiceNow.
- Proficiency in ServiceNow Asset Management (HAM/SAM) modules.
- ServiceNow Scripting (JavaScript, Glide API) and development skills.
- Experience creating software entitlement records in SAM Pro.
- Understanding of software licensing and how hardware configurations impact licensing.
Preferred Qualifications
- ServiceNow Administration and Development certification is preferred.
- Familiarity with the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Knowledge of ServiceNow Discovery and Integration Hub/Graph Connectors.
