We are seeking an experienced Interconnects Commodity Engineer with expertise in connectors, cables, and cable assemblies. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in manufacturing, understanding various connector technologies, and driving the selection and testing of interconnect components.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with manufacturers to understand their capabilities and technologies.
- Provide technical support to product engineers for design and development.
- Stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in interconnects and cable technologies.
- Lead cost estimation and manage the cost process for interconnect components.
- Perform engineering and reliability testing on interconnects to meet standards.
- Work with suppliers to obtain quotes and ensure technical specifications are met.
Required Skills
- 6-8 years of experience in manufacturing connectors, cables, and cable assemblies/harnesses.
- Strong knowledge of various connector technologies (e.g., liquid cooling, air cooling issues, high-speed cables, micro-beam cables).
- Expertise in ICM (Integrated Connector Modules) technology, including speed and functionality.
- In-depth understanding of engineering and reliability testing for interconnects and related costs.
- Experience in working with suppliers to align on technical specifications and costs.
- Prior experience with Cisco, GSM, Component Engineering, or BU roles.
