4+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in infrastructure or platform engineering.
Strong proficiency in Go (Golang), including goroutines, channels, interfaces, and production-grade services.
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including CRDs, controllers/operators, client-go, and reconciliation patterns.
Strong experience with Microsoft Hyper-V, WMI, HCS, PowerShell, and Windows Server.
Strong knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or MySQL, including schema design, transactions, migrations, and query optimization.
Experience designing distributed systems, including state reconciliation, eventual consistency, leader election, and failure recovery.
Experience developing and consuming REST and/or gRPC APIs.
Strong Git, CI/CD, automated testing, and debugging skills.
Understanding of compute, storage, networking, and virtualization concepts.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop a Kubernetes-style control plane for managing Hyper-V hosts and virtual machines.
Build control plane components using Go, including APIs, controllers, operators, schedulers, and reconciliation loops.
Develop and maintain database schemas for VM inventory, cluster state, host topology, and configuration.
Build and manage Kubernetes CRDs and controllers where applicable.
Implement reliable, idempotent reconciliation logic to maintain desired and actual infrastructure state.
Develop REST/gRPC APIs for control plane integrations.
Implement monitoring, metrics, logging, and tracing for infrastructure health and resource utilization.
Design for high availability, concurrency, failure recovery, and safe infrastructure operations.
Develop unit, integration, and end-to-end tests and participate in code reviews.
Collaborate with Infrastructure, Platform, and SRE teams on scheduling, resource allocation, quotas, and placement policies.
Document architecture, APIs, operational procedures, and runbooks.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience building Kubernetes-style control planes, cloud infrastructure, or hypervisor management platforms.
Experience with KubeVirt, OpenStack, or similar virtualization platforms.
Knowledge of Hyper-V virtual switches and software-defined networking (SDN).
Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
Familiarity with Terraform, Ansible, or PowerShell DSC.
Understanding of Hyper-V concepts including VHD/VHDX, virtual switches, checkpoints, live migration, WMI, and Host Compute Service.
Experience working in enterprise or regulated datacenter environments.
Contributions to open-source infrastructure or Kubernetes projects.
