Technical / Functional Skills
- Should work from office from Day 1.
- Technical system admin primarily supporting IBMi (AS400/iSeries) infrastructure including IBM MQ and WebSphere running on the platform as well as software replication technologies (MIMIX & OMS).
- Should be familiar with IBM Power Hardware (Power 7, 8, and 9) and internal as well as external storage (IBM DS8K).
- 5+ years IBMi hardware and OS support including configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting on iSeries platform.
- Advanced iSeries system administration skills.
- Needs to be results driven and can work independently.
- Good understanding of replication software and concepts, journaling, save/restore required and some programming (CL at minimum) is required.
- Person needs to be dependable, strive to excel, looks for opportunities to increase stability, reduce errors and increase automation and have solid troubleshooting skills.
- Being a team player is a must.
- Will need to communicate effectively with business partners and other associates at all levels, develop and maintain documentation of team procedures, processes, and policies.
