Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Administer and support HPE NonStop (Tandem) systems.
  • Perform system configuration, upgrades, patches, and preventive maintenance.
  • Monitor system health, capacity, availability, and performance.
  • Partner with application teams for deployments, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
  • Implement and maintain backup and recovery strategies.
  • Support disaster recovery (DR), business continuity, and high availability architectures.
  • Implement system security policies, user access controls, and auditing.
  • Analyzes and designs technical solutions to address business needs.
  • Troubleshoots systems to increase quality of systems.
  • Identifies, investigates, and proposes solutions to technical problems.
  • Develops, tests, and modifies software to improve efficiency of internal operating systems.
  • Provides technical support for issues surrounding software/hardware failures and the like.
  • Provides technical expertise where required within Information Technology Projects.
  • Prepares and maintains necessary documentation. 
Required Technical/Functional Skills
  • 7+ years of hands on experience supporting HPE NonStop systems. A combination of education and experience may meet qualifications.
  • Experience with NonStop capacity planning, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Employs advanced knowledge as a generalist or specialist of programming and systems analysis and related applications.
  • Requires strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Requires strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with both management and staff employees.
  • Must be able to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to set and maintain high quality work standards.
  • Ability to lead a group.
  • Frequently contributes to the development of new theories and methods. 
  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
