Job Description

Our ideal candidate must be a combination of leader, trainer, education professional and curriculum developer, who is highly experienced in UI/UX, as well as collaborative within a network of peers. This person must be passionate about continuing education, coaching and advocating for the team of instructors they are equipping as well as the students they are teaching. Simply put, the incumbent needs to be dedicated to the world of UI/UX design and even more dedicated to equipping our instructors with the tools, resources and support they need, resulting in our students receiving the highest quality education and training required to land entry-level data science jobs upon graduation from the program. This person must have a management background, expertise in curriculum development, methodology, content, and delivery of interactive, facilitation-based training utilizing multiple teaching platforms including classroom, web-based, hands-on, and self-directed instruction. An established record of leadership in a collaborative setting is highly preferred.

 

Our Requirements and Your Experience

•Stay abreast of industry technology trends & adoption

•Perform informal interviews with internal and external authors and other resources to evaluate emerging technologies and assess relevance to curriculum planning

•Evaluate emerging frameworks and significant modifications to existing major frameworks and assess relevance to curriculum planning.

 

Development & Content Lifecycle Management

•Help to shape and implement curricula plans under the direction of leadership across all platform-supported content types

•Publish and maintain curriculum roadmaps

•Forecast and assess library content needs

•Collaborate with counterparts across the organization to maintain a comprehensive feedback loop and proactive lifecycle management for produced content

 

Expert and Content Acquisition

•Assist with expert recruitment in collaboration with the technical recruitment team

•Assist and guide the evaluation and approval of prospective authors.

•Assist and guide the evaluation, development, and approval of author submitted proposals.

•Attend trade shows, conferences, and other events as determined in consultation with the CEO to stay abreast of industry trends

 

Author Relationships

•Develop and maintain positive working relationships with experts

•Coach and engage in technical discussions with experts as needed

•Regularly share curriculum needs and plans to guide author efforts and solicit author input

 

Organization Support

•Support Director of Education with general curriculum communication to company

•Collaborate with the business development team on partner content initiatives

•Collaborate with professional services on content’s process to investigate both new and old technologies to satisfy University demand

•Collaborate with product/content marketing team to develop sales- and marketing-enablement collateral related to curriculum plans

•Regularly maintain and share curriculum plans with the company

 

Required Education, Certificates/Licenses

•Bachelor’s degree in computer science, graphic design, visual design, web programming, information architecture, UI design. Master’s Preferred.

•UI design portfolio

•Expertise in core technologies of:

•Balsamiq

•Figma

•Sketch

•Axure

•InVision

•Photoshop

•Illustrator

•InDesign

•Acrobat

•Dreamweaver

•Knowledge or ability to work with UI development: CSS, Bootstrap, React, VueJS, etc.

•Scrum process and creating Epics and User Stories for the UI designs

•Must have 6 - 8 years of combined curriculum development experience or training program creation

•At least 5 years of experience with HTML5 & CSS3

•At least 3 years of experience working with users in requirements gathering, developing and implementing analytics solutions and developing documentation

•Experience developing exercises or lessons on Github

•Experience in the following areas a plus:

•Instruction at a technology bootcamp

•Mentoring junior developers

•Prior experience as a teacher

•Ability to discuss and explain design options

•Must have excellent writing capabilities to clearly and concisely communicate engaging instructions

•Exceptional and engaging presentation skills - particularly when it comes to complex technical information

•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

•Strong analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills

•A desire to work in a fast-moving environment with a high degree of ownership and independence

•A love of UI/UX and a passion for growing the careers of a diverse new generation of design professionals
