We are looking for an experienced Google Cloud Architect to design, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions, specifically within the financial services sector. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in deploying Google Cloud services for production environments, with a focus on security, governance, and compliance.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design and implement robust Google Cloud solutions for production environments, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.
- Enable and configure Google Cloud services with necessary guardrails and controls to meet the security and regulatory requirements within financial services.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to adopt and enforce cloud best practices, including governance and compliance frameworks.
- Lead test-driven development efforts by writing Gherkin statements and translating them into automated tests using tools like pyTest.
- Contribute to the Cloud Compute team by supporting both Linux and Windows-based cloud infrastructure.
- Utilize Terraform, Python, and Go to automate infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and management.
Required Qualifications
- Proven expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) with a track record of delivering production-grade solutions.
- In-depth experience enabling Google Cloud services with appropriate security and compliance controls, especially within the financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of test-driven development (TDD) and experience in writing Gherkin statements and creating automated tests with pyTest.
- Experience with both Linux and Windows operating systems in cloud environments.
- Proficient in infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, and programming languages including Python and Go.
- Knowledge of policy-as-code frameworks like Sentinel and its application in enforcing cloud governance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with large-scale cloud migrations and infrastructure optimization.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex cloud environments.
- Familiarity with cloud-native security best practices and regulatory compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, SOC 2, PCI-DSS).
