Client is looking for experienced GIS Developer with expertise in .NET API development to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in GIS/mapping technologies, a solid understanding of database development, and proven skills in building secure, scalable web services. This role is integral to our projects, particularly in the AgTech sector, where geospatial data plays a critical role.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable APIs using .NET technologies.
• Implement RESTful services and ensure adherence to best practices in API design and security.
• Work with GIS/mapping data and tools, including but not limited to Google Maps, ESRI, ArcGIS, and other geospatial technologies.
• Integrate geospatial data into applications and support geoprocessing needs within the agricultural domain.
• Develop and optimize SQL Server databases to support application functionality and data storage requirements.
• Ensure data integrity and security in all database interactions.
• Design and implement security protocols to protect systems and data.
• Stay updated on security standards and best practices relevant to web services and APIs.
• Architect and develop enterprise-level web services with a solid understanding of SOA, WCF, SOAP, REST, XML, and JSON.
• Implement integration architecture patterns and standards to facilitate seamless data exchange.
• Apply Test Driven Design (TDD) principles to convert requirements into use cases, unit tests, and functional test cases.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5-10 years of API development experience, depending on the programmer level.
• Experience with GIS/mapping technologies and frameworks.
• Extensive knowledge of .NET and web UI/JavaScript frameworks.
• Strong database development skills within SQL (SQL Server).
• Knowledge of integration architecture patterns, standards, and tools.
• Practical experience designing and implementing security protocols for web services.
• Strong knowledge in SOA, WCF, Web Services (SOAP, REST), and various transport and security protocols.
• Preference for candidates with knowledge of Agricultural Technology, geoprocessing, and GIS frameworks.
