Job Description
Primary Responsibilities
  • Understand the unique requirements of OT environments, including SCADA systems, PLCs, DCS, and other industrial control systems.
  • Configure, monitor, and maintain commercial and custom firewalls to safeguard the network from external and internal threats.
  • Develop and enforce firewall rules and policies that align with security best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Regularly review and update firewall configurations to ensure optimal performance and compliance with security standards.
  • Troubleshoot complex network and firewall issues and provide solutions in a timely manner.
  • Administer and support Linux, Unix, and Windows-based systems, ensuring they are hardened and secure for use in OT environments.
  • Design and implement disaster recovery strategies, ensuring business continuity for critical OT systems.
  • Perform regular system backups, disaster recovery drills, and document all procedures to ensure rapid recovery during incidents.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify network vulnerabilities, potential threats, and gaps in security posture.
  • Identify and resolve network and firewall security issues promptly and effectively.

 

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in firewall configuration and network security management.
  • Proven experience securing OT networks and industrial control systems, including SCADA, PLCs, and DCS.
  • In-depth knowledge of firewalls (both commercial and custom), IDS/IPS, VPN, SSL, encryption, and other network security technologies.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, networking protocols (e.g., routing, switching, VLAN), and network segmentation.
  • Experience with security tools, vulnerability scanning software, and network monitoring solutions.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks like IEC 62443, NIST 800-82, and similar.
  • Experience working with Linux, Unix, and Windows-based systems.
  • Familiarity with system hardening and securing OT infrastructure.
  • Strong scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, or similar languages to automate tasks and improve efficiency.
